4x16G Interoperable Short-Wave (iSW4) 850 nm QSFP+ Parallel Optic Transceiver

 

Description

The Avago AFBR-79FIPZ is a 4-channel interoperable shortwave (iSW4) QSFP+ optical transceiver module designed for converged network systems. The AFBR-79FIPZ is capable of supporting either 4x16G Fibre Channel (FC) or 4x10G Ethernet over a 100 meter link distance. The device supports aggregate 64G FC or 40G Ethernet bandwidth for high-density, short-range data
communications and interconnects.
The AFBR-79FIPZ is designed to operate over multi-mode fiber systems using a nominal wavelength of 850 nm. The device offers optical interoperability with 4x, 8x, and 16x Fibre Channel and 10G Ethernet SFP+ modules through breakout cables.

  • Compatible with proprietary links with data rates up to 16 Gbps
  • Links up to 100 m using OM4 MMF and 66 m using OM3 MMF at a maximum data rate of 16 Gbps
  • Interoperable with:

       - 16x Fibre Channel FC-PI-5 compliant transceivers
       - 10G Ethernet compliant module per IEEE 802.3ae 10GBASE-SR standard
       - Avago's 10G SFP+ USR transceivers, up to 125 m using OM4 MMF and 100          m using OM3 MMF

  • Compatible with 4x and 8x Fibre Channel FC-PI-5 transceivers with respect to optical specifications
  • Compliant to industry-standard SFF-8436 QSFP+ Specification Revision 3.5
  • Compliant to the 40GBASE-SR4 and nPPI specifications per IEEE 802.3ba D3.2
